• Center for Alaska Native Health Research (CANHR)
  The purpose of CANHR, established through a five-year grant awarded by the National Institutes of Health, is to investigate weight, nutrition, and health in Alaska Natives.

  The University of Alaska Statewide Health Programs office works with UA campuses and Alaska's health community to provide coordination and capacity building in response to the state's most significant health and social science needs.

International

• Arctic Circle
  A "virtual" educational forum hosted by the University of Connecticut with three interrelated themes: natural resources; history and culture; social equity and environmental justice.
   
• Arctic Institute of North America, University of Calgary
  Created 1945 as a nonprofit tax-exempt research and educational organization based at McGill University in Montreal. The Institute moved to the University of Calgary in 1976. The U.S. Corporation of the Arctic Institute of North America is located at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.
   
• Scott Polar Research Institute, University of Cambridge
  Founded in 1920, the oldest international centre for Polar Research within a university.
   
• University of the Arctic
  An international non-governmental organization dedicated to higher education in and about the Circumpolar North.
   
• University of Oulu, Finland
  Focus is on the survival of man and animal in cold environments with light conditions varying greatly according to time of year, the intellectual and material culture created by man in different eras, and his influence on the northern environment.
